I personally prefer the gym. I like to be around other people, as I am very extroverted. I couldn't stay at home by myself and work out unless I had a friend there.

if you have the proper equipment at home i would say house for me.. you can listen to your own music at any level this is the number 1 thing that gets me motivated and your not stressed if your having a hard day or long day and cant make gym hours.. on the other hand i like the versatility of a gym with all the equipment you can work a muscle different every workout that helps a lot when you start to plateau

In my case I have children and no room for a home gym. I like going to the gym which motivates me even more since I'm paying for it. It does allow a better focus atmosphere. But if you have more time and space and not so many responsibilities I would suggest a good full home gym.
