I do my cardio after my workout. Since I swim, it gives me a chance to cool down after a tough workout. Of course I shower first so I don't sweat into the pool. What do you think I am, disgusting?
I've noticed from your threads that you're quite a swimming fan! I think I might give this a chance... my gym has a pool, but I've never thought about using it.
I suggest cutting everything out from your diet. And I mean everything. Your body will start to digest itself, and you'll lose that extra chub in no time at all.
Start with that 10 pounds of ugly flab sitting on your neck.

There is a swimming pool at my gym too, but I don't know...is it weird of me to worry about other people's cooties in the pool?
I know this for a fact because i was told this by a nutritionist, physician and a fitness instructor. Cardio is best done before doing weights because if it is done after weights you're body may in effect start eating up the muscle work you put in so you cancel everything out. Ideally and if you have the time cardio should be done in the morning and weight training in the evening. Ideally 90 mins cardio and 90 mins weight training 4-5 days a week is all you need to do to get results. Spending too much time doing either is bad. Too much cardio saps all energy from your body and too much time weight lifting can result in your muscles becoming soft and flabby.
From what i have read in every muscle and exercise book most say do your cardio first as it wil force you to burn more fat as you dont have any calories to use as energy when you first wake up.
i always done before just for the fact if i do cardio first it gets my heart pumping more which seems to make it easier for me to weightlift beter. not sure if it the right way but works beter for me so i stuck to it.
I do cardio and weights on different days, alternating them. I do this mostly for time management because I don't have the time to do the complete workout every day. I don't know if cardio is better done before or after weight training, but I would think before because of the heart rate. You want to get it up before you do any real workout and cardio does that well. Plus weight training itself can keep the cardio working out even as you work on other things.
i agree with kicknit SOMEWHAT.... in my opinion you should always do your cardio last.... but make sure you always do a 10-15 min warmup b4 you workout!
