Re: what kind of shake/drink should i take? I do not recommend you to take supplements except for protein shakes or maybe creatine.
But if you plan on taking protein shakes (which I would recommend) take one after working out.
The best type of protein is Whey Protein, there are various brands you can purchase but I use GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Protein.
Remember protein shakes are better then protein bars. (Easier to eat and it gets to your muscle faster)
