Default Eat Raw Eggs

Does anyone still do this? Are there any advantages of eating raw versus cooked eggs? Anyone gotten sick doing this?

Default I've wondered too....

Danielle, hi

I've wondered about that myself. I personally don't think I could get myself to do it. Whether it's safe or not is a good question.....I hadn't even contemplated that aspect. I think I was still stuck on the idea of being grossed out by eating raw eggs!

I don't see the benefit of it. Personally I eat egg whites almost every day.. I can make a mean veggie and cheese egg white omelette. If not an omelette scrambled or poached. Just in a little vegetable oil and good to go.

I am not sure what eating raw proves.. and it could potentially be bad for you if there is any bacteria. I am not sure if you can get salmonella from eggs or not.

Default me too...

I was thinking right along the lines of Triumph. It just sounds sort of nasty to eat/drink raw eggs. It's the idea of having something contaminated that could make you really sick. I think it doesn't help any that I've never been a real big egg fan either.....

Hmm raw eggs. I've seen plenty of movies with the stars actually drinking raw eggs-mind you, they're movies from the eighties. I have no idea how they can do it. It just grosses me out. What about shakes? I've heard of people making shakes involving raw beef and raw eggs.

Rocky Balboa did itif you can't get yourself to drnk them just like that, beat them up just like when you are doing your omlette and mix them with some milk and sugar.i use 3 eggs mixed with 1/2 litres of milk and some suger and it tastes great..at least for me.
the issue that is much debated on is if raw eggs are absorbed by your organism or not.some say yes, some say no

Predator,

Why on earth would you mix that stuff up with sugar? I might understand so sweetner, but sugar is just plain awful for you. Mixing it up with anything is about unhealthy as you can get. There is no redeeming value in refined sugar at all.

Pardon my french but wasn't Rocy Balboa a broke mofo when he drank raw eggs in the first movie. I would like to believe that bodybuilding is a bit more advanced than eating raw eggs as a good supplement.
