I wonder if anyone else has used a rowing machine before at the gym. It was a seated, on-the-floor machine in which you actually mimicked rowing action and it was really great for toning up back and arm muscles. I say that it 'was' because unfortunately they removed it from our gym recently. One of the personal trainers told me that it was now considered obsolete and was being replaced by a new resistive type of equipment. I was disappointed to hear this because I always seemed to get good results with it.

It was also good for a cardiovascular workout as well.
