I was just wondering if anyone has used or owns a Bowflex workout set. We are considering buying one and would like to hear from those who have used it what they really think of it.
I never used one, but have heard it's a good machine. My friend got one a few months ago and said that making the weight adjustments can be a drag, but she's not really into fitness so maybe that's just her excuse for not using it. Sorry I can't really be of help; she lives in another state now, so trying her machine out isn't an option for me.
Thank you for taking the time to send a note regarding the Bowflex. My husband and I both also wondered about the ease of using it, like your friend. We're not afraid or opposed to doing the necessary changes, we just want to make sure that it's not a pain in the butt. One of my neighbors who is also interested in it just told me that she thinks that we can request a free CD on it that demonstrates it fully.....I think I'll check into that today.
I never used the bowflex, but I did use the soloflex, which I think was similar. I just don't think they give you a very efficient and powerful workout. I think you would be better off with a set of dumbbells and a barbell bench press and just get some weights. Obviously a lot bulkier, but also going to give you more options and consistent resistance.
My problem with the soloflex when I had it was it was simply not fluid.
Thanks for sharing that information with me. I have not even heard of the Soloflex before. There seem to be so many different types of workout machines today....it's incredible! That is an interesting point about it not being 'fluid' enough. Those are the types of things I'm interested in finding out about concerning possible equipment.
I have used on extensively at a relative's house, and I found it to be an effective machine. However, I think they are over-hyped and over-priced. Nothing beats a good workout cage with a set of weights and dumbells, in my opinion.
I have a bowflex and I have been fairly happy with it. It is an all-around useful machine, and lets me get most things done without needing too much equipment.
Bowflex machines are good if you only want one machine. But if you have the money / space for a good setup, then I would stick with getting a few different specialized machines.
I heard about this bowflex machine but I thought it was simply a legend. I never would have imagined that they actually exist! If you are able to obtain one, please do! That would be simply amazing!
My grandpa was friends with the guy who invented the bowflex machine! He says the guy was really nice, so I'm guessing his machien would have to be nice too. That sjust the logic that I have reached.
