My local gym has a bowflex machine, but I've only gone there af ew times and every time I've been there, the bowflex machine has had a long line of people waiting to get on it. I guess that means its good for something.

They're DEFINITELY overhyped. Other machines can do the same exercises, and do them better. Consumers have been tricked into thinking the bowflex is some sort of god-like machine!

That is an interesting take on the Bowflex, Navitatl. I wonder if it has been overhyped too. Then I hear about the post where people are standing in line to use it at the gym, and that makes me wonder if there isn't really something special about.

Thanks for the input. Reading all of this will help us to make a decision on it.

Obviously a lot bulkier, but also going to give you more options and consistent resistance.

My problem with the soloflex when I had it was it was simply not fluid.
just what triumph said, the bowflex is for the training enthusiast who is looking to get that ripped look or just get into shape, and its a great machine to do that. but if your looking to get stronger, stick to free weights and different machines. the bowflex is great for someone looking to build muscle for fitness not for strength.

Default Re: Bowflex machine anyone?

I have been using Bowflex Extreme, going on 2 months. (Never previously worked out.) I have been using this machine 4-5 times a week, naturally. The results have been everything that I've wanted, with little to no body fat as a result. I will continue to use this machine until it gives out. I would suggest the product to anyone that loves to save money and that can put forth a little dedication. I have gained 11-12 lbs of lean muscle in a 2 month span. Started out at roughly 143. Now weigh in at 157. This machine also works wonders for your posture. This is a muscle fitness machine. Not for the bulker.
